Mint Street Fun in the Park Festival
On the 18th July, Bankside Open Spaces Trust and Blackfriars Settlement are hosting a summer festival in Mint Street Park, on the corner of Marshalsea Road and Southwark Bridge Road (map). The fun begins at 3.30pm and goes on until 7.30pm so there’s plenty of time to fit in an after work visit. Among the activities will be a cabaret act with a PA system powered entirely by bicycles, drama and music workshops, information stalls, refreshments and a 5-a-side football tournament. If you and your colleagues would like to put in a team for the football tournament, it’s not too late - simply email Rachel Fitzgerald at rf@betterbankside.co.uk.

Why not join Better Bankside at 4.30pm at our offices in the Bankside Community Space for a showcase of some of the work of our community partners, including Bankside Open Spaces Trust? A short presentation about the different ways you can get involved in the local community over a glass of wine will be followed by a guided walk, giving participants a taste of what it is like to live in the area between Bankside and the Elephant & Castle. The walk will end at the Mint Street Festival at around 6pm so there will still be plenty of time to enjoy the festivities there. If you are interested in attending the CSR event, please RSVP to Rachel Fitzgerald at rf@betterbankside.co.uk
