The first spring session of the year after a break for the winter. Our fortnightly sessions will resuming from April.
Better Bankside's regular lunchtime gardening club meets twice-monthly during the summer months and helps look after the network of small green spaces we've helped to deliver in Bankside through our Bankside Urban Forest programme.
We will be refreshing the four tree pits outside the Union Vietcafe. Clearing away debris, topping up the soil level in preparation to sowing wildlife seeds.
The planting scheme is to help biodiversity in the local area. All tools will be provided, and no knowledge of gardening is needed - the aim of the session is to encourage people into the great outdoors, to meet their neighbours and to discover more about what Bankside has to offer while gaining a little gardening knowledge!
In case of extreme weather conditions, the session could be cancelled. Please check the Bankside Urban Forest; http://twitter.com/BanksideForest for an update.
Alternative date will be set, you will be alert by email.
If you'd like to sign up for this session, please contact Georgia Smith at gs [at] betterbankside.co.uk
