Kirkaldy Testing Muesum
Better Bankside, Southwark Council, the Kirkaldy Testing Museum and the developers of the Bankside Hilton are working together to improve the environment in Prices Street following the completion of the construction of the new hotel. Now is your chance to have your say and help shape the future of a new public space in Bankside.
The proposed improvements form part of Bankside Urban Forest, a long term strategy and partnership which aims to create more inspiring, greener streets and spaces in Bankside.
The Bankside Hilton is planned to open in summer 2015 and funds have been set aside from the project to improve the landscaping of the public realm around the building, including the streetscape along Great Suffolk Street, Bear Lane and Prices Street.
The proposals for Prices Street build on consultation carried out as part of the traffic and design study for Great Suffolk Street in 2011-13 which highlighted the potential to close Prices Street to vehicular traffic and create a new public space there.
