Marlborough Sports Garden
The Better Bankside Pancake Day Race is a firm favourite in our events calendar. Every year on Shrove Tuesday Bankside businesses get competitive with their neighbours in a fast and furious pancake flipping relay. The winning team will be treated to all-you-can-eat pancakes and a glass of prosecco at the OXBO Bankside.
Put forward a team or come and support members of the Bankside business community as they show off their pancake-tossing skills at our annual Pancake Day Race. All proceeds raised will go to support Paintings in Hospitals, a local charity that places fine art in clinical settings. Every year their work brings comfort and reassurance to over 1.8 million people across the UK. They work across the health sector, including hospitals, hospices, care homes, GP surgeries, cancer centres and special needs schools.
The races will start at 12.30pm and finish at around 2.00pm on 9 February 2016.
The races will be held at The Marlborough Sports Garden, a fantastic public open space right in the heart of Bankside, near to London Bridge.
How do I enter?
Better Bankside member businesses can submit teams of four runners and we have space for 25 teams overall to compete. To enter a team for the event, email info [at] betterbankside.co.uk (subject: Pancake%20Day%20Race%20Entry) with a team name and the names of those racing. Whether you have a whip around the office, have a collection bucket or personally donate online, teams will need to donate £25 to complete their entry. All proceeds raised will go to local charity, Paintings in Hospitals and competitors will be given a delicious pancake to enjoy afterwards from our pancake stall.
To donate £25 and confirm your race entry please go to our Just Giving page here.
Can I watch?
Please come down to cheer on your colleagues, friends, families and strangers. There will also be a pancake stall at the event, so you too can indulge in the Pancake Day festivities. So join us and support a great cause while having a flippin' great time.
