Building upon last year’s review of cycle parking provision, to seek to increase the level of cycle parking provision in the area. Bankside hopes to have 50 more public cycle parking spaces in the area.

To lobby for improved conditions for pedestrians and cyclists in and around Borough High Street and Borough Market.

To increase the usage of the interactive map, and ensure that it is refined better to meet customer needs.

To reduce the number of cycle thefts in Bankside and to encourage visitors to businesses to cycle; to encourage businesses to record the mode of travel used by visitors.

As part of the ongoing monitoring of travel and transport patterns in the area, Better Bankside business members will be encouraged to record the mode of travel used by visitors to their premises. (This will usually be done by adding a column to the 'signing in' sheet held at reception.) In return Better Bankside will supply one or more free 'guest' bicycle locks, to be handed to visitors arriving by bicycle, and returned on their departure.
