Following the success of the Better Bankside recycling initiative, we are now in the process of negotiating a “super discounted” green taxi service for our members. The strength of our “collective purchasing” power allows us to effectively negotiate a discount from standard fare rates, while other subsidies that are available for promoting “green business initiatives” will allow us to pass on a further discount to our members!

Trial Scheme - We are aiming to run a trial scheme from October – December 2010 and we are looking for a limited number of Better Bankside members to participate in this. The trial will involve your business using a specified “green taxi” service provider booked through a Better Bankside account. You will receive a discount of at least 25% from the full value of the fare for all your journeys!

What is a green taxi? A taxi service provided by an “environmentally friendly” vehicle such as a Toyota Prius (an advanced hybrid vehicle which switches between a petrol engine and an electric motor) where the amount of polluting emissions produced are significantly reduced compared with a standard cab doing the same mileage. Where you need to use a taxi, it’s a cleaner and greener way to travel!
