ABTA, the travel association, boosted their environmental programme with Smart Green Business. The tailored action plan and quick win recommendations identified the potential for ABTA to reduce its materials consumption by 70kg and carbon emissions by over 1 tonne in the first year alone, and generate a significant financial saving. SGB experts have also helped them put in place business wide environmental commitments, setting the framework for their activities and ensuring that there is management support for implementation.
Alisha Anderson of ABTA says:ABTA places sustainability at the heart of what we do. We work with our members and in destination around the world to ensure best practice but recognise that responsibility starts at home. The Smart Green Business programme helped us refine our internal sustainability efforts and added expert assurance that we were on the right track. It gave us great recommendations on how to reduce our environmental impacts even further and explained how much money we could save by making simple low cost changes. We would highly recommended this fantastic free service to all companies, regardless of where they may be on the sustainability journey. It gives you the expertise and confidence you need to achieve real change and the tools and knowledge to make the right choices.
