'Bring a Better Christmas' – fourth year for popular appeal
It’s the fourth year for Better Bankside’s popular Bring & Buy a Better Christmas appeal, and this year we’re hoping will be the best yet!

You can download a leaflet here and a poster here. Please distribute them around your workplaces!

Location, Location, Location's Phil Spencer, an ambassador and supporter of Broadway - one of the beneficiary charities – commented:

"Following the success of Better Bankside’s Christmas appeal in 2006, I would again like to urge you to ‘Bring a Better Christmas’ for disadvantaged and vulnerable people in the Borough and Bankside area.  Participating is simple, yet the difference a Christmas present makes to someone who would otherwise have nothing is simply overwhelming.

"As ambassador for homelessness charity Broadway, who are based just off Borough High Street, I can testify that presents donated as part of Better Bankside’s Christmas Appeal will really make a difference.  Last year, residents at Broadway’s Southwark hostel for homeless women were delighted to receive gifts.

"Please do all you can to make Christmas bearable for those who are not so fortunate.'"

Once again Better Bankside is working with five local charities which support homeless or older people: Broadway, Lucy Brown House, Hopton’s Charity, Age Concern Southwark and The Manna Centre.

So please let those early Christmas shoppers know! We would be grateful for donations of the following kinds of gifts.
