A Celebration of Better Bankside’s CSR programme

Tate Modern was the location for a 12th October Celebration lunch event for Better Bankside’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
The event had three objectives:
  • To welcome Better Bankside’s new ‘Community Partners’
  • To welcome Better Bankside’s new ‘Volunteer Advocates’
  • To launch the report ‘Discovering the Needs’, based on the ‘Inquest’ event in January 2007
It attracted an excellent audience, with 80 RSVPs. Attendees were welcomed by Better Bankside Chair, Donald Hyslop, Director of Regeneration & Community Partnerships for Tate. They then heard a presentation from Peter Begbey, Director of Sustainability at Waterman Group, the Chair of Better Bankside’s CSR theme group. You can read the presentation here.

Donald Hyslop and Peter Begbey then made presentations to Better Bankside’s seven new ‘Community Partners’. These organisations all run projects benefiting primary-age children, and 11-19 year-olds – the CSR theme group’s two priority groups. Each of the groups will receive a grant for the next three years, and will also be a key focus for volunteering and other activities. They are:
  • Bankside Open Spaces Trust
  • Bankside Residents Forum
  • Borough Music School
  • Southwark Mysteries
  • Southwark Playhouse
  • Southwark Theatres Education Partnership (STEP) Festival
  • Southwark Young Pilgrims
