What: Alison Shipton
Alison Shipton's exhibition at the Menier Chocolate Factory on the 8th of October, will be a mixture of figurative and abstract paintings and drawings. It will again show the variety of subjects and styles which have become her hallmark. Her vigorous, sensitive and, at times, humorous responses to her subjects are both moving and delightful.

What: Paul Richards: The Incurable Malady of
Coco the Clown
The Incurable Malady of Coco the Clown’ is a new video work by Paul Richards produced for exhibition at the Jerwood Space. A clown, haunted by the jokes of his past, is imprisoned in a bleak desert scene. Tantalised by a desire to quench his thirst, the clown undertakes a sequence of desperate acts. The clown’s repeated failures become the subject of a behaviorist experiment rooted in slapstick choreography.
