Where: Bankside Gallery, 48 Hopton Street, SE1 9JH
Cost: FREE
The Menier Gallery has a range of exhibitions on throughout May. Here they are outlined in brief:

Realising the Potential in People (Wed 7 - Sun 11 May) - The UK charity PEAS (Promoting Equality in African Schools) is running a photography exhibition  in collaboration with photographer Paloma Pargac featuring photographs and stories from a selection of students that attend PEAS schools in Uganda, showing them at home and at school.

Drawing Affinities(Tues 13  - Sat 17 May) - These artists are interested in how we physically and mentally shape space and how we experience it and therefore this exhibition focuses on the representation of that experience, some works deal with spaces (natural and human), others with the objects we inhabit space with.

True Story: The Faces and Voices of a Community (Tues 20 – Sat 24 May) - An exhibition with a difference: combining film, photography and original artworks, the primary reason for the installation is to showcase the trailer of True Story: the documentary and to stoke some interest amongst possible patrons and supporters to help make the complete documentary. The secondary reason however, which is just as important, is to involve different members of the British African-Caribbean community in a positive project that not only involves but empowers.

NorskArt 08: Experiencing up-and-coming Norwegian artists up-close (Wed 28 - Sat 31 May) Close to 30 student artists will display their work in NorskArt’s annual exhibition that showcases Norway’s student talents in the arts. A plethora of artistic media—photo, sculpture, documentary filmmaking, painting, drawing, graphic design, clothing design, textiles, illustration and jewellery—will be represented, ensuring a treat for everyone’s taste.
