Better Bankside ‘goes live’ at Thames Festival |
In conjunction with Thames Festival, Better Bankside organised an evening of entertainment along Stoney Street and in Borough Market. There were three performaces frpm 5.30pm-8.00pm by Adanta, an African dance and percussive performance group, She'koyokh, a ten-piece klezmer band and the Zen Hussies, an Eastern European-style Gypsy Brass Band.
Extra seating was provided in Borough Market and Brew Wharf's courtyard in the form of Better Bankside's hard-to-miss pink chairs and tables. Brindisa and Derreensillagh Smokehouse, both traders of Borough Market, stayed open late to offer food to go to the numerous people who lined the street to enjoy the music.
The music certainly attracted the crowds who, on hearing the music, made their way up Stoney Street from Clink Street, and thoroughly enjoyed the three music acts. There was even a spot of dancing, bringing more vibrancy to the event. |
