Better Bankside announces Community Partners
Better Bankside's CSR theme group has entered into a closer relationship with seven local community groups. These are Bankside Open Spaces Trust, Bankside Residents Forum, Borough Music School, Southwark Mysteries, Southwark Playhouse, Southwark Young Pilgrims and the STEP Festival. It has undertaken to grant fund specific projects for a period of three years as well as giving 'in kind' support wherever possible.

Said CSR theme group chair Peter Begbey of Waterman Group: 'We've tried to respond to what we heard in our inquest event back in January, where the groups were asking for a longer-term funding commitment and more 'in kind' support. Although we know most of these groups well already, we asked some of them to present to members of the CSR group on 26th June. Given the high quality of their presentations, it was exceedingly challenging to divide up the available grant funding between them. However we hope we have reached an equitable solution. Fixing the funding for three years enables the CSR group to focus more on its new Business Volunteering project and other initiatives.'
