Better Bankside supports Feast on the Bridge

Better Bankside is supporting Feast on the Bridge, as part of the 10th annual Thames Festival on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th September; activities, including a Feast on the Bridge, the Night Carnival and a river fireworks display, will take place between Westminster and Tower bridges.

Feast on the Bridge
On Saturday 15th September between 12noon and 9:30pm, for the first time in its history, Southwark Bridge will be closed to traffic and become a magical setting for this Feast on the Bridge.

The bridge will be transformed by a team of artists into a series of extraordinary eating areas: an enchanted woodland picnic; a traditional British seaside; a formal banquet; a lounge bar; an Indian wedding celebration; and a village fête. Visitors will be invited to share a unique opportunity to eat, drink and make merry al fresco with fellow Londoners. Food will be cooked on the bridge and include everything from hog roast to curry, fresh oysters to tea and cake. There will be an array of activities in celebration of Harvest with pumpkin-carving, apple-bobbing and bread-baking.

Local restaurants, including Brindisa and Roast and Borough Market traders will be taking part in 'Feast on the Bridge'.

Better Bankside will also be manning an information stand on the south side of Southwark Bridge throughout the day providing visitor information and Bankside Guides to the 800,000 visitors expected over the weekend.  Why not pop by and say hello!
