Rachel Fitzgerald is the newest member of the Better Bankside team. Rachel is the new Corporate Responsibility Officer and she seems to have taking a liking to our corporate pink! Read more about her below.
Where do you come from?
I was born in London but was brought up in North Norfolk by the coast. I’ve been back in London for 5 years now, on and off, and currently live on a canal boat in the east of London.
What were you doing before you joined Better Bankside?
I was working for Volunteer Centre Southwark, just down the road! I was part of the Business Volunteers team, organising ‘team challenges’ and supporting companies to volunteer with local community and voluntary groups.
What will you be doing for Better Bankside?
I am the new Corporate Social Responsibility Officer and my role will be two fold. I will be working with Better Bankside’s member companies to support them to get more of their employees volunteering and I will also be managing the new community space for hire at Bankside 3.
Interests/Hobbies
I love the outdoors and am a keen cyclist and walker. As well as my boat being my home, I also enjoy cruising the inland waterways of Britain during the summer months.
What do you like about the Bankside area?
I love the fact that there are so many things to see and do crammed into one area, it makes for an incredibly vibrant and buzzy atmosphere. Knowing the area quite well though is an advantage when you want to escape from the crowds and I really appreciate all the small green spaces that are tucked away down side streets. |
