Better Bankside’s Rangers are patrolling the area between 8am and
8pm Monday to Saturday and between 8am and 4pm on Sundays. Last month
they helped Tate Modern deal with a suspect package. You can read
about their duties in the attached leaflet.
In the fifth of a regular feature, we feature a brief profile of one of our Rangers. This month it is Urzula Kryszkowska.
Q: Where did you work before you started working for Better Bankside?
A: Hamley's. I was working as a lost prevention officer.
Q: What do you like best about the job?
A: Meeting different people every day and being out and about.
Q: What has been your hardest challenge so far?
A: Starting everything from scratch when I first arrived in the UK.
Q: What is your favourite place in Bankside?
A: The Bankside riverside and Borough Market.
Q: What is your favourite thing to do when you are not working?
A: Going out with friends, going to the cinema and reading. I also like watching DVDs.
Q: Tell me something interesting about you?
A: When I was little, a stone got lodged inside my knee. My
mum wanted to take it out for me but because I was crying she
didn't. The stone is still in my knee.
Q: What’s the worst thing you have ever done?
A: When I was little, my brother made me angry so I stabbed him in the leg with a fork. He still has the scar - Ooops!
Q: How would you describe your perfect evening?
A: Going out with friends, clubbing or having a nice dinner with my boyfriend.
Q: What would you be doing if you weren’t a ranger?
A: I would still be working for Hamley's.
