Bankside Residents Forum - Two Opportunities

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a key resident ledgroup in Bankside. BRF work positively and proactively with Developers, Archtitects, Southwark Council, Community Groups, Local Businesses and other organisations which impact on the development and regeneration of Bankside. We have established and maintained a long standing working relationship with key stakeholders in the area and are highly respected as a forward thinking group who represent the local community. We are invited to sit on several committees that steer the planning and regeneration of Bankside.

Opportunity 1: Treasurer urgently needed!

About the opportunity: BRF are looking for a Treasurer to manage the day to day finances of the Forum, produce and present a quarterly report to the Management Committee and the Annual General Meeting. BRF receive a core grant from Southwark Council and additional funding for projects when required. They employ a part-time coordinator who represents the group at meetings and manages and steers the work of BRF.

Location: Southwark Street, SE1 (shared office with Better Bankside)

Time commitment: Flexible - about an hour a month.

[Editor's note: Please note Opportunity 2 is for joining of "Bankside Residents Forum Committee", instead of "Bankside Residents Forum Planning Committee" . We apologise for the incorrect text published on the Vbrief Aug 07, thank you very much for reading this.]

Opportunity 2:  Join the Bankside Residents Forum Committee

About the opportunity: BRF are keen to have a representative from a local business on the Committee who lives in the area. The Committee meet every 6 weeks and keep in touch by email and phone.

Time Commitment: Just a couple of hours a month or more if you have the time. It is entirely up to you how involved you would like to be. You do not need to have any special knowledge or experience just an interest in the development and regeneration of the area.
