Peckham Settlement - Help to create a business and marketing plan |
|
The Peckham Settlement was established in 1896 to meet the needs of local people and to give support to the local community. It does this by providing a range of services, which may change from time to time according to need and the resources available. As well as providing services itself, the Peckham Settlement also provides space and support to a range of other community organisations who would otherwise not be big enough to operate on their own. Current activities include a 40 place nursery with a six place baby unit, a programme for Travellers and pensioner groups and an asylum seekers project. The philosophy of the Peckham Settlement has always been to innovate and seek new solutions to social problems old and new, wherever possible. Thus the Peckham Settlement was a pioneer of unemployment insurance 100 years ago, subsequently of nursery schools and meals on wheels, and more recently of job clubs. Local experiments like these can provide ideas for new national policies.
About the Opportunity: The Peckham Settlement are looking for someone to develop a business and marketing plan for them and, if possible, offer support in writing up promotional literature such as Annual Review, newsletters etc.
