STEP is a borough-wide partnership between the education sector and the theatre community in Southwark. It has a strategic vision to support creative theatre collaborations, to celebrate and increase access to this rich and diverse work. A major part of their work involves organising a large arts festival every year, which is run by and on behalf of young people. STEP works with schools, youth centres and pupil referral units to ensure a wide participation of youth into the world of theatre and drama. www.step-partnership.co.uk
About the opportunity: STEP’s Creative Director would like a member (or members) of the business community to assist her with the organisation of this year’s festival (2-13 July). Time is obviously of the essence with this opportunity so if you’re interested, get in touch ASAP. After the festival is over, there is a possibility of extending this volunteer opportunity to include the development of marketing materials, fundraising and work on an outreach programme. A great opportunity to support a really vibrant community organisation at a particularly busy time of year.
