Christmas Church Service
For the fourth year in succession, Better Bankside invited all local employees to a Christmas Service at Southwark Cathedral, followed by the lighting of the Cathedral's Christmas tree, and carols around the tree accompanied by the Dixie Ticklers.
Thereafter mulled wine and mince pies will be served at the back of the Cathedral. The service will launch Better Bankside's appeal 'Bring a Better Christmas'. You will also have an opportunity to buy Christmas cards produced by Paintings in Hospitals, following a joint schools art project with Better Bankside.
Last year the service was by St Nicholas in person, or at least in the person of Canon Jim Rosenthal. After their excellent performance in previous years, music again comes from the Merbecke Choir - composed of former choristers (male and female) of the Cathedral and young people from the area
