Dog Mess
Dog fouling is a major issue for many of our towns and cities in the UK.
It is amongst the most offensive type of litter on our streets. It is not only unpleasant it is dangerous. The biggest threat to public health from dog excrement is Toxocariasis - a parasitic infection resulting from contact with dog faeces, that most commonly affects children between 18 months and 5 years old”.
Fortunately dog fouling is not a major problem in the Better Bankside BID. However Better Bankside's Rangers are alert to the dangers and will immediately report any incident of dog fouling. They will arrange for urgent removal, cleaning up and disinfecting by our cleaning team. The cleaners will attend with an hour of receiving a report.
The Rangers will speak to anyone whose dog is seen fouling the streets and ask them to remove the mess. They will report any such incident to the Borough & Bankside Community Wardens with a description of the owner and the dog. The Wardens have the power to issue Fixed Penalty Notices.

“As architects and placemakers we
obviously have a special interest in
the place where we work – both our
own building, its surrounding area
and initiatives like Bankside Urban
Forest. Better Bankside is the best
medium through which individual
voices may act in concert in support
of their community. That’s why we support Better Bankside.”
