Area Promotion

Bankside is now a world-famous destination - for overseas and British tourists as well as for Londoners. It is also a fantastic venue for business events and meetings.
Visitbankside.com and What's On Newsletter
Based on our understanding of the needs and behaviour of our visitors, we will raise awareness of Bankside via a variety of initiatives including the redeveloped www.visitbankside.com website and monthly What's On newsletters, as well as in conjunction with London and Partners. The website includes information on Bankside's attractions, art galleries, heritage, open spaces, pubs, restaurants, theatres and festivals as well as an events guide and dedicated sections for the travel trade and the travel press.
Events
We continue to create major visitor events, including the new Merge Festival and the annual Bastille Day festivities.
Visitor Information
We produce the Bankside Guide as well as One Big Summer Guides in conjunction with South Bank Marketing Group and Team London Bridge and jointly operate the award winning Infobikes - our mobile tourist information centres during summer months. The Infobikes welcome people to the area and offer information to visitors where and when they want it: on the streets. The InfoBikes won the 2008 Visit London Silver Award for Best Visitor Information Initiative. They are staffed by Londoners who share their local knowledge and help visitors make the most of their stay. The environmentally-friendly InfoBikes pitch up at key locations to offer on-the-spot advice and recommendations to the huge numbers visiting the area's cultural venues, family attractions and events. All members of Better Bankside have the opportunity to place their marketing collateral free of charge on the bikes.
Riverside London App
In 2011 we launched the free Riverside London App using augmented reality it shows visitors what is happening at all the main attractions as well as having listings for bars, restaurants, shops and hotels in the area.
Visitor Research
We undertake regular visitor research, from surveys to footfall tracking to understand visitor motivations and needs.
Familiarisation Trips
Better Bankside offers regular familiarisation trips to both the travel trade and to press, these can be tailorer to meet requirements

“I find Better Bankside a marvellous
resource. They are always looking
for ways to enliven and improve
the area. It’s particularly helpful
to know that their cleaning team
is just a phone call away, and that
they will take on those ‘hard to
reach’ problems. That’s why we support Better Bankside.”
