The second-ever Bankside Women in Business event took place on 17th October. This year three women from Bankside businesses debated issues facing women in business today before an audience – not exclusively of women – at the Menier Gallery. The panel of three speakers was ably chaired (albeit from a standing position!) by Sue Hall, Business Development Manager at Jonathan Bailey Associates. The panellists were:
Jo Arch – Client Manager at the Team brand communications consultancy
Nikki Scrivener – Director of Fourth Day public relations consultancy
The panellists spoke widely about their achievements as women in business, how women make a difference to a business and the challenges which they have had to overcome as well as what success meant to them.
They also offered practical advice on being a woman in business including taking regular ‘reality checks’ to see if life and work were balanced, and not trying to be anyone but ‘yourself’.
The seminar was enthusiastically received and networking continued over wine and sandwiches for some time after the official end time.
