'Artifice burglary' increasing threat to businesses, say police

The police have asked Better Bankside area businesses to be aware of an increase in artifice burglary activity. This is when someone uses an entry scam to commit a burglary. Typically the perpetrator would claim to be fitting carpets or checking the water. Once inside the easiest targets are usually laptops, coats and bags.

If you believe you have been the victim of artifice burglary, you should contact Southwark Police on 020 7378 1212.  The Artifice Burglary Officer is Grant Holbrook - grant.holbrook@met.pnn.police.uk
