Better Bankside Travel group learns from Dutch experience
One of Better Bankside Travel Group's objectives in 2006-07 was to learn from businesses and projects in the Netherlands promoting environmentally friendly travel options. Johan Leferink from the Province of Gelderland will attend the first part of the Travel Group's meeting on 26th April at 12 noon to introduce some of the projects there. The meeting takes place at the Council for the Protection of Rural England, 128 Southwark Street. You can download an agenda here. Both Better Bankside 's Travel Group and the Province of Gelderland receive funding from the EU under its 'Optimum 2' scheme, which focuses on innovation in travel planning for business areas and hospitals in the UK and Holland. Funding may extend to a study tour focused on 'green' business transport options. It is hoped that this study tour will take place in July.
