Better Bankside ebrief, FEBRUARY 2006 |
Cleaning machine imminent; cleaners get makeover Better Bankside's cleaning service will soon be mobile... Better Bankside has placed an order for a new electric vehicle, to be delivered by end-March. This will allow its cleaning team to offer a 'rapid response' service as well as serving a number of other uses.
After a rigorous research and tendering process, Better Bankside selected Bradshaw Vehicles' FB2 model [weblink here]. The steel chassis is being customised with a cab and an aluminium superstructure, and it will tow a trailer. The Better Bankside vehicle is being supplied in a 48 volt configuration which will allow speeds from 7mph to 15mph and a tow load of up to 3.5 tonnes. The vehicle will be housed and recharged at Tate Modern. At the same time Better Bankside is purchasing two new items of cleaning equipment from Overton, which can be viewed here [http://www.overton-uk.co.uk/pedestrian.htm]. Both are large vacuum cleaner-style products - one (the 240-125-ELN model) built upon a 240-litre wheelie bin, the other (the BP-75) in a 'backpack' style.
Better Bankside cleaning operatives will also soon be recognisable by their new uniforms, designed by the Team and manufactured by Image Wear. Each cleaner has been equipped with a polo shirt, a fleece, an anorak, a hi-viz vest and a cap. All the garments are in black, with badging featuring the new Better Bankside logo.
