Better Bankside acts to contain sewage outflow in Montague Close
Occasionally LondonŐs ancient sewer system fights backÉ On 17th May Better Bankside staff spotted effluent running down from a drain in the new paving between Southwark Cathedral and the Mudlark public house, and onto the road. The Better Bankside community wardens attended the scene of the incident, calling in the CouncilŐs environmental services officers. Eventually a blockage to the sewer was cleared by Thames Water. Following the incident, the mess was cleared by Better BanksideŐs cleaning team.
